Career Goal
I want to do a career in the engineering field. I don’t really know what exact engineering I want to pursue yet, but I do want to do a career in the engineering field. Since I’m more of a hands-on person, I find it interesting to build and fix things. I’ve been thinking about doing this for years. In 6th grade, during the pandemic, I found out I’m more of an in-person learner. Then in 8th grade I figured I should do engineering.
Right now I’m in AP Physics and Precalculus. I’ve also taken Geometry, Honors Chemistry, and Honors Algebra 2. I’ve taken mostly higher classes for science and math, which is needed for engineering. In the Tech Center, I’m hoping to learn hands-on-experiences with using tools and machines. Also I’m hoping to learn some social skills. I believe these would help me succeed in becoming an engineer.
I have been in extracurricular activities. I’ve been in SGA and band. SGA taught me leadership skills and teamwork, while band taught me teamwork and the importance of following directions. I haven’t been able to do activities outside of school other than sometimes help my uncles or granddad fix things. I’ve also never been employed yet.
My immediate plan after high school is to go to college or university. I want to go to college and major in engineering to either get my B.E. or B.S. My plan has changed over the years. At first, I was thinking of going straight to the workforce, then attending college/university a year later. But decided I should immediately go to college/university to reach my goals quicker. I will go to college somewhere else in the U.S. It’ll maybe be Texas, but not sure yet.
After achieving my career goal, I would help the community if they ever need help building or fixing something. Society can count on me if they ever need help with anything that is engineering related. The world could see my inventions that could potentially help with problems around the world. I believe I would have a positive impact on the world, but don’t think that I would make that big of a difference. Hopefully, I’m able to make a great career out of engineering and I succeed in life.
