Through my 4 years in the 3D Visual Arts pathway offered at Costa Mesa High School, I have had the amazing opportunity to experience and learn more about the world of ceramics. I have extended my exploration into the use of texture. I have explored how the use of texture incites emotions of uncertainty and also asks the question: what really is beauty? I primary work with hand built pieces using a wide varieties of clay bodies such as cavendish, B-mix, and recycled clay. I have experimented with the use of different materials in order to accent the clay differently. I have done this by experimentation with oxides and glass, and the use of metals.
