Since Rerum Novarum, the Catholic Church has shown its engagement with the global society in the social aspect of teaching. Now the Church seems to be engaging more than ever with environmental and developmental concerns. The world however is engaged with the United Nation’s (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a common theme. This book identifies both the consistencies and disparities between Catholic Social Teaching and the SDGs movement. Examining the potential level of cooperation between the international community and the Catholic Church in the implementation of the Agenda 2030 Goals, it is interesting to other areas of academic disciplines like environment and sociology of religion. This type of a study is not available much, especially in Japan and I hope it helps to understand the Church people and others on the need of collaboration.

So this book is an interesting one for any who is interested in Jesuits, their Education and other missions.
