Recognition Ceremony of
Kyushu University Alumni Association of the Philippines (Kyōdaikai)
by Atty. Ronald De Vera
On November 4, 2025, at exactly 14:30, I was honored to attend the recognition ceremony of our Kyushu University Alumni Association of the Philippines (Kyōdaikai), held at the Special Reception Room of Shiiki Hall, Kyushu University Ito Campus.
In attendance from Kyushu University were President Tatsuro Ishibashi, Executive Vice President for Alumni Associations Yoshimi Sonoda, Vice President for International Affairs Shuji Shimizu, and Associate Professor Mami Wakabayashi, Coordinator for the Department of Overseas Engagement, Q-AOS.
I was joined by my fellow Kyōdaikai member, Maria Gracita Cardinal, and my wife, Atty. Katharina Cases-de Vera.
It was a pleasure to listen to the kind greetings of President Ishibashi and to receive from him the recognition certificate and flag of Kyushu University. It was also a special experience to deliver my own greetings and message as Chairperson of Kyōdaikai in Japanese during the ceremony.
As the formal ceremony concluded, all of us left the grand venue with a warm feeling of gratitude toward our hosts from Kyudai and awe at the exceptional care they took as the organizers to ensure the ceremony was solemn and memorable.
