With the short film being about the transition into spring, I decided to focus on high-end melodies and harmonies. My composition used 13 tracks to create more intimacy rather than a large, grand orchestral orchestration. This was my first time (2021) writing to picture, let alone aniation and so took inspiration from many other short forms of animation and took away to apply the, almost, playfulness of the instruments in this style of 'film'.

My submission for the Indie Film Music Summer 2022 Contest, which placed 9th and of 175 Submissions in the Youth category.
The idea behind this score was to give it a unique sound - created with a synth - to represent and be played mocking the counting done in the entire short film. The idea of the secret number was referred to as 'bleem' and was highlighted in directors notes so used this as a basis for the entire piece.
The short staccato string lines are a must for building tension, and so are used (alot) throughout.

The Joker 2019 (RE-SCORED)
This Re scored scene from the Joker 2019 movie, was the second piece of media I ever scored (2021) - with little production knowledge or technique.
The basis of the piece are the full chords played by lower strings, carrying most of piece along up until a certain point - reflecting the media - where there is a progression change along with the melodic line no longer being used as a way of, ALMOST, TAUNTING. THE SAME WAY IN WHICH THE CHARACTER LOVES TO DO.

nation geographic short film contest, scored as part of my assigment under music for media - writing music for media to a brief.
The brief explains to use sound with sonic characteristics that reflect the atmosphere on screen and portray the beauty but isolation of the icy tundra and its animals.
The music is supposed to work underneath naration and so shouldnt be over the top, but subtle whilst complimenting the images on screen.
