Main Menu

The Main Menu is the first screen the player sees at launch. It’s the central hub for accessing game features.

Navigation Options:

• Start Game → Loads Gameplay (If a save file is detected, proceed to Warning Overwrite Save Popup Screen)

• Options → Loads Options Screen

• Credits → Loads Credits Screen

• Quit → Loads Confirmation Quit Game Popup Screen.

Pause Screen

The Pause Screen appears when the player initiates a pause state during gameplay.

Navigation Options:

• Resume → Returns to Gameplay

• Options → Loads Options Screen 

• Main Menu → Loads Main Menu Screen

• Quit Game → Loads Confirmation Quit Game Popup Screen.

Credits Screen

The Credits Screen when accessed from the main menu.

Navigation Options:

• Return to Main Menu → Returns to Main Menu

Options Screen

The Options Screen allows the player to adjust settings such as audio, controls, and display.

• Back → Returns to the previous screen (Main Menu or Pause Screen)

Gameplay

The core game screen where the player controls their insect and plays through a run.

Navigation Options:

• Pause → Loads Pause Screen

• Run Ends → Loads Results Screen

Results Screen

The Result Screen appears at the end of a run, displaying DNA earned that run. Will also display win condition if player has upgraded and evolved completely.

Navigation Options:

• Proceed to Upgrades → Proceed to upgrade screen.

Upgrade Screen

The Upgrade Screen allows the player to choose between core upgrades or evolution.

Navigation Options:

• Upgrade Core Stats → Applies upgrades to core stats, remains on Upgrade Screen

• Evolve → Evolves insect, remains on Upgrade Screen

• Continue → Returns to Gameplay

Warning Overwrite Save (Popup)

Appears if player selects Start Game button from the Main Menu (if a save file already exists).

Navigation Options:

• Yes → Overwrite save file and proceed to Gameplay.

• No → Return to Main Menu.

Confirmation Quit Game (Popup)

Appears if the player selects Quit button from Main Menu or Pause Screen.

Navigation Options:

• Yes → Close Application while saving progress.

• No → Returns to the previous screen (Main Menu or Pause Screen)
