Professional Teaching Goals

Teach students to critically examine their institutions and the world around them. 

Teach students to be good citizens and members of society.

Affirm students' identities through music and help them develop confidence in those identities.

Promote belonging and inclusion: my students do not have to shed any part of themselves at the door. 

Invite students to come to my classroom with their whole, authentic selves, and create an environment where they not only are tolerated, safe, and accepted, but they feel welcomed, invited, and celebrated.
