Education Simulation games: At Florida State University, I teach an undergraduate Lifecycle Risk Management course (RMI 4115) and an online graduate Personal Financial Planning course (RMI 5810).
To help students in my courses learn personal risk management, I created simulation games.
Click here (Risk-Ruin) to play the game and learn human capital risk management.
Click here (Retire-Max) to play the game and learn retirement planning. This is a work-in-progress. All feedback is welcome.
IREF 2026: Private Equity and Private Credit, July 25th
I look forward to speaking at the 2026 Financial Regulators Program, presented by IREF in collaboration with the Universities of Wisconsin and Iowa and The Institutes Griffith Foundation. My session, Private Equity and Private Credit, will focus on the recent growth of PE involvement and private credit exposure in the U.S. life insurance industry and provide insights to help inform the regulatory community. As with all programming in this series, the session is purely educational – speakers share information and perspective, not advocacy positions.
