* Surprises with DNA results happen every day. The DNA does not lie. If it would upset you to learn of a surprise in your own heritage or immediate family, do NOT take the test.

** If you test at Ancestry, in order to see family trees of your matches, and have access to the online records the site provides, you have to pay for a subscription (monthly, annually, etc.). Without a subscription you can still enter your own tree, and you’ll see the names of your DNA matches. And if you “share” your results with someone who subscribes, he/she can see all those trees for you.

*** Y-DNA results cannot be uploaded to these sites. But stay tuned and we'll set up a project so that all your Y-DNA results can be compared.
