Lippo Bartolomeo Dardi, professor, writes in his work on the Order of Defense that the expectations of the members of the order are as follows: *To set an example of courtesy and chivalrous conduct on and off the field of honor. *To support and uphold the Laws of the kingdom and Corpora. *To enrich the kingdom by sharing his or her knowledge and skills. *To enhance the renown and defend the honor of the peer’s Lady or Lord. *To advise the Crown on the advancement of candidates for the Order of Defense. …and these qualities and more are evident in Ffernfael of Carleon. Rare is the gentle who through their skill with the sword, service, and scholarship of the arte has earned such great renown and high esteem as to be recognized as a Master of Defense. Ffernfael of Carleon’s feats of prowess, knowledge of the sword arts, and dedication to the community are beyond parallel. Thus do We, Afshin and Yasmin, King and Queen of Atlantia, elevate him to stand as one of our Masters of the Order of Defense. We affirm by these Letters Patent his exclusive right to bear these arms: Vert, in pale an open compass and a carpenter's square point to base Or, on a chief argent two corbies addorsed sable.
