Meisterin Amie Sparrow
Golden Dolphin
27 March A.S. LV at Defending the Gate and Baronial Investiture in Our Barony of Stierbach in the Canton of SudentorrePersonal takeaways from this project:
Personal takeaways from this project:
- Definitely work from dark to light next time.
- Generally go from large to small brush strokes.
- Lean to fat (start with gouache go to glair then tempera.)
- Practice more on a larger scale with egg tempera.
- The imprimatura (underlayer of complementary colors) was a good idea.
- Be more patient. Just let it sit for a day or so when it feels overworked and needs to cure.
- OMG the CRACKING almost made me trash this one 20+ hours in.
