Most worthy are those who take up the swordTheir courage as fair as the courtly grace Of those who grant kindness by deed and wordBut finer those who by skill take the baseAnd form it to beauty. Such folk We placeIn Our hearts and in Our highest esteem,For they gild Our bold kingdom and the Dream. Therefore do We, King Cuan MacDaige andQueen Signy Heri, praise Our good servantBaron Hamish Macleod and, by our hand,Unto this most worthy artisan grantAn honor which none may ever supplant,And to the Order of the Pearl we raiseThis man of honor, as token of praise.
Done the second month on the eighth day,Anno Societatis LIV,At the Bright Hills' Baronial BirthdayIn deepest Winter, when the air was hoar. Therefore, We scribe Our names to make this sureAnd bid Our Triton Herald set his seal,To make good Our will for Our Baron leal.
