In Progress: Red Side-Back Laced Underdress

This is a sleeveless kirtle-like side-back laced underdress to be worn under the Fate Trossfrau garb for 12th night. I'm excited for the little pop of color every now and again. This is actually finished, I just need to get a picture of it, which is difficult because it's under my dress.
I'm not sure red is my color.
The lacing I'm using while I learn to lucet is too slippery and keeps coming unknotted.
I'm wondering if I should use some boning on either side of the lacing. We'll see when it is actually laced, and has skirts.
