This doublet began as part of Ishmael Reed's "Doublet Troublet" class in November 2018. There has been MUCH learning from this garment, and has become something of a UFO for me. I do plan to finish it, especially since I recently purchased a navy blue fabric for lining and pants/skirt.
I started with Ishmael Reed's doublet pattern, as we have similar body types. I had to take it in at the waist, but otherwise it was pretty spot on. Marta helped me get a lot of the lumps and bumps out when I had it on at Roxbury Mill's practices.
I can't believe how much more finished this looks with a lining!
I basted part of the lining on the sleeve, because I still have to create lucet cord for the button loops and attach them.
Button hole prep!
