Kingdom Entries
As with every good war, there must be groups of combatants striving together towards the victory of their group. This battle will be using SCA kingdoms as focal groups for which scribes will be grouped together to win bigger prizes and collaborate to achieve military objectives:
K1. Best Illuminated Alphabet
K2. Best Alphabet Theme
K3. Largest scribal army (Since each scribe will be limited to one letter entry, kingdoms can win this by having more scribes produce all of one alphabet, or if enough scribes from each kingdom are involved, multiple full alphabets)
K4. Most Letters captured: This objective will be awarded based on the results of the I1 category judging. The kingdom which wins the most letters by their scribes.
K5 Best historiated Alphabet (there may be "extra credit" opportunities here... If you're considering this category, please let me know...
Each of these Kingdom categories will be worth 144" of battle points.Using Battle points
One will note that the battle points are in the form of inches. This is because they are worth square inches of parchment from Medieval Goods Parchment.
Individuals can choose to redeem their prizes as a piece of parchment for their own use, in whatever rectangle form factor they choose.
Kingdom prizes are awarded to the SCA kingdom, at the discretion of that kingdom's Kingdom Scribe to be used in whatever rectangular shape(s) are wanted.
Individual battle points can be given to the scribe's kingdom. Yes, Scribes can be mercenaries, but they will declare their kingdom on entry submission form. The kingdom with the most battle points (including any points ceded by individuals to greater good of their kingdom) will be considered the victor of this battle. Deadline for Entries: Entries must be postmarked by (originally April 28th, 2020) NOW May 5, 2020. This means that Judging will begin in early May.
