Being a wanderer, I find myself constantly yearning to explore the uncharted corners of the world. There's something about the mountains, the rugged paths, and the faraway landscapes that stirs my soul in a way nothing else can. Every journey, every trek, is a chance to reconnect with nature and experience life through a different lens.
When I set out to explore a new place, the joy isn’t just in reaching the destination. It's in the winding paths, the challenges along the way, and the moments of solitude where I can truly listen to the whispers of the earth. Tracking through different locations—be it mountains, forests, or rivers—gives me a sense of freedom and peace that is hard to find in the noise of everyday life.
Each new location has its own unique vibe. The high mountains offer a sense of tranquility that washes over me with every step, while dense forests feel like a symphony of life, each rustling leaf telling a different story. The thrill of the unknown excites me, and with every new place, I feel like I'm learning more about the world and about myself.
Trekking and traveling are not just hobbies; they are essential parts of who I am. It’s a way of breaking free from the ordinary, of pushing my limits, and of finding new sources of inspiration. The bond formed with nature and the connections made with different cultures along the way make every journey worth it. Whether it's the fresh mountain air or the quiet moments spent by a river, roaming and tracking are how I live fully, embracing all that the world has to offer.
During my third year of B.A., I had the amazing opportunity to pass the physical exam for the Basic Rock Climbing Course, which led me to an unforgettable 10-day adventure at the Swami Vivekanand Institute of Mountaineering in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. It was a journey that not only challenged me physically but also mentally, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
From the moment I arrived, I was swept into an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie. The instructors were incredibly skilled and passionate, making every session a thrilling learning experience. The schedule was packed with activities that kept us engaged, and each day brought something new and exciting. We were taught a variety of essential rock climbing skills—everything from tying knots to rappelling, climbing techniques, rolling, and hanging. Each skill had its own unique challenge, but the instructors were patient, guiding us through each step with great attention to detail. The equipment we used, though difficult to memorize at first, became second nature as we spent more time with it.
Our batch was made up of 80 girls, with students from all over India, each bringing a different energy and spirit to the course. The diversity of the group added to the richness of the experience. We worked together as a team, supporting each other through the tough moments and celebrating each small victory. The bond we formed over those 10 days was one of the highlights of the course, making the experience even more special.
On the final day, we had our exam. The tension was palpable, but the sense of achievement was far greater. After all the hard work and dedication, I was overjoyed to secure the first rank in the course! It felt like a culmination of everything I had learned, and it was an incredibly proud moment for me.
Looking back, this course was more than just about rock climbing. It was about pushing boundaries, learning to trust my abilities, and overcoming challenges. It taught me resilience and the importance of teamwork. The beauty of Mount Abu, the thrill of climbing, and the sense of accomplishment made this experience truly unforgettable. I will forever cherish the memories and the lessons I gained during those 10 days.
