My name is Kurt Butler. I am a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Causality in Healthcare AI Hub (CHAI Hub). 

Previously, I obtained the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, USA. My dissertation focused on problems in causality and explainable artificial intelligence. At CHAI, I work on theory of causality and applications to healthcare.
