“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” – Henry Adams
Teacher’s Day represents a significant occasion dedicated to acknowledging the indispensable role of educators in shaping intellectual, moral, and social development. Celebrated on September 5th in honor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the day serves as a formal recognition of the commitment, knowledge, and guidance provided by teachers. It also offers students an opportunity to express their appreciation, critically reflect on the knowledge imparted to them, and engage with the pedagogical process from a learner’s perspective.
Traditionally, the celebration in schools involves students assuming the role of teachers for a day, thereby gaining experiential insight into the responsibilities and challenges of teaching. In contrast, our department adapts this practice within a digital framework through the observance of Virtual Teacher’s Day. This approach incorporates the preparation of a recorded lecture by students, followed by the organization of an interactive quiz based on the presented content. Such an initiative not only fosters active learning but also enhances student engagement and collaborative participation. Additionally, e-certificates are awarded as a formal recognition of participation and effort.
This page, therefore, encapsulates the essence of Virtual Teacher’s Day as an innovative convergence of traditional values and technological practices, emphasizing the importance of knowledge dissemination, mentorship, and academic appreciation.
