Simple teaching tips I wish I had known in the early days of my teaching:
Prepare a weekly schedule with possibly book chapters and auto-graded quizzes (auto-graded: yes, you won't have time to grade, and you don't have to have manually grade quizzes, which are supposed to track whether students are reading chapters and reviewing lectures)
Make slides/notes that are paced well weekly: try to teach only some things, especially dont have to cover what students already know. But provide all the basics to bring all students to the same page before discussing the complex topic.
Make activities (ingrained into slides are separate paper-based activities) for every class—yes, it is possible.
Build auto-graded weekly homework.
Also, using exams in increasing order of weights increases inclusivity, as it takes some students time to absorb new knowledge.
