We are the Zenkoku Ippan Tokyo General Union KUIS Workers Union, a group of lecturers and advisors who are proud to work at the Kanda University of International Studies (KUIS). Currently, our members are primarily a part of the ELI and SALC. However, we hope to expand to include people from all departments so the entire faculty and staff may benefit.
There is power in a union!
Plainly speaking, the Union will go to bat for you. Joining will allow you to share your ideas, and make a difference for your current and future colleagues. In turn, we will defend your rights and fight for change.
This is what your contribution can do:
bring your voice, perspective and insights to the table, and know that you'll be listened to
strengthen the union's power to defend your rights
help ensure a more equitable future for yourself and others
improve the quality of our workplace
experience solidarity and community
So, if you find yourself often explaining what could improve at work to your co-workers, perhaps it’s time to find birds of a feather and flock to our Union!

We started our Union to navigate our precarious COVID-19 issues, but we realised there were many other issues that we could tackle as well.
Did we miss something you believe needs changing? Did you see an issue you, too, are worried about? Let us know, and don’t be afraid to show support by joining the conversation!
Do you have ideas on how to improve working conditions and are looking to actually get it done? We’re here for you!
