As a part of my project, I am publishing all the materials and lesson plans I created.Â
(PLEASE NOTE: The lesson plans were created using previously published materials which I do not own and do not take credit for, and belong to their respective owners. These have been cited using embedded links in the documents attached here below. I have combined these wonderful sources along with my own knowledge of what I have learned to create a 2 week interactive lesson plan to use in schools and educate future generations for the years to come.)
I want this project to have a far reaching effect that is lasting throughout the world, and encourage you to replicate this project in your own school and communities. Knowing how to grow sustainable and healthy food without chemicals is very important for the future generation to thrive on this planet earth. This lesson plan focuses on incorporating the science of growing food (hands-on) to biology lessons relating to botany: soil composition, plant anatomy, plant cells, photosynthesis, and food health benefits. You can modify this plan to however it suits your school best. Take into account the geographic location, humidity, weather patterns, and time of year when choosing what crops to grow. All you need is a 10x10 plot of land that is fenced off (to prevent animals from eating the crops), a water connection, sunlight, and young minds ready to participate and change the world!
