A student visa is required to go to Korea. It is a D-2 visa. You can submit your application in person or by mail. For general information regarding visa fees and how to apply, visit here.
KUBS is one of the certified universities, therefore you will only need to provide the Certificate and Letter of Admission and the Certificate of business registration (both obtained from KUBS directly). The additional documentation requirements (mentioned above) for your D-2 visa can be found here.
Students with Chinese nationality must apply for their visa in the country where their home institution is located.
In order to travel in and out of Korea throughout your studies, you must register for an Alien Registration Card after arriving in Korea. You can find more information regarding this here.
Under the newly applied immigration office guidelines, all D-2 visa holders must leave Korea within two weeks from the end of the semester. If there is a reason for the extension of the term such as additional classes, the student shall bring the documentary evidence and visit the immigration office to extend his/her stay.
Please note that resident permit/visa requirements can change at any moment and our offices will not be informed. It is the student’s responsibility to check the embassy website for updated procedures and required documentation.
If you have any questions, your best resource will be your host university or the consulate. Our office is happy to help as much as we can, but are not experts in immigration.
NOTE: Visa application rules change frequently and the university cannot control visa acceptance. You are responsible for applying for and providing the proper documentation to the consulate or embassy.
