Luisa Valentina Nino de Valladares

Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering 

Dr. Valentina Nino is an assistant professor in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Kennesaw State University. Her research interests include human factors, ergonomics, cognitive science, optimization, simulation, process improvement, and decision-making models. The overarching goal of her research is to change the way healthcare services are delivered by making them more efficient, effective, proactive, and patient-centered

Associate Professor of Systems and Industrial Engineering

Dr. Awatef Ergai is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Kennesaw State University. Her research focuses on human factors, ergonomics, systems design, and quality improvement, with applications in healthcare and service systems to enhance safety, efficiency, and user experience.

Associate Professor of Psychology 

Dr. Israel Sanchez-Cardona is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Science at Kennesaw State University. His research interests include occupational health psychology, employee well-being, workplace stress, and organizational behavior, with a focus on promoting healthier and more productive work environments.

Professor of Software Engineering

Dr. Paola Spoletini is a professor in the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development at Kennesaw State University. Her research interests include software requirements engineering, software testing, and software evolution, with a focus on supporting the development of dependable and adaptive software systems.

Dr. Sweta Sneha is a professor of Information Systems at Kennesaw State University and the founding director of the Master of Health Informatics program. Her research focuses on health informatics, IT-driven healthcare transformation, predictive modeling, and the strategic use of data to improve clinical and operational outcomes in healthcare.

Professor of Information Systems 

Dr. Adriane Randolph is a professor of Information Systems at Kennesaw State University and Executive Director of the BrainLab. Her research explores brain-computer interface systems, neuro-information systems, and the design of technologies that adapt to human cognitive states to improve decision-making, accessibility, and user experience.

Dr. Lin Li

Associate Professor of Systems Engineering

Dr. Li is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Kennesaw State University. Her current research focuses on utilizing machine-learning methods from data science, algorithmic & simulation techniques from decision science,  and social sciences theories to study strategic and operational level system decisions with applications in supply chain management, logistics, and healthcare analytics.

Ph.D. Student 

Aquib Irteza Reshad is a Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Engineering at Kennesaw state University, specializing in ergonomics, human factors, and biomechanics. With a background in Industrial and Production Engineering from BUET, Reshad is dedicated to advancing safety, human-centered design, and error reduction in the healthcare sector.

Triveni Kandimalla

Graduate Research Assistant

Triveni is a Master’s student in Computer Science at Kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from India. She is a Graduate Research Assistant, gaining hands-on experience in research and real-world problem-solving. She is passionate about areas like AI, Quantum machine learning, Data Science, and enjoys applying innovative solutions to technical challenges.

Michelle Ilechukwu is a graduate student at Kennesaw State University pursuing a Master’s in Information Technology with a concentration in Information Security. She works with both Dr. Valero and Dr. Nino, contributing to research in the HOPE Lab focused on healthcare systems optimization through data collection, analysis, and the integration of emerging technologies.

Ricardo Aguilar 

Undergraduate Research Assistant 

Ricardo Aguilar is an Industrial and Systems Engineering student at Kennesaw State University with a strong enthusiasm for process design improvement and project management. As an active member of the IISE Chapter at KSU, he collaborates with faculty and helps students connect with companies and industry leaders. He is currently pursuing a career in consulting to broaden his international experience and leverage his bilingual skills.

Nicole Schsholm-Ortiz

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Nicole Schsholm-Ortiz is a third-year undergrad student at Kennesaw State University. She is pursuing her Bachelor's in Mechatronics Engineering. Under the mentorship of Dr. Valentina Nino, she is conducting research focused on the application of exoskeletons in the healthcare field, with an emphasis on enhancing mobility.

Jessica is a second year ISYE student with a passion for the healthcare industry. Thus far she has contributed to research in the efficiency of NASA TLX as well as various spectroscopic studies including near infrared and diffuse correlation. She looks forward to pursuing her passions further in Dr.Nino's lab.

Joselin Reyes is a freshman at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Currently, Joselin is conducting a literature review on diabetes management, investigating current challenges and exploring potential improvements in the field.

Farah Talib is a senior in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Kennesaw State University, with a concentration in systems and a minor in applied statistics. Farah has experience working in construction and has interests in process control within manufacturing, statistical analysis, and optimization. Outside of academics, Farah is also a passionate fan of sports and art.
