Parents and Grownups,
This page is for you! Here, you’ll find resources to support you on your journey of raising a child to know and love Christ. Your role in your child’s life is, hands down, the most special and important when it comes to their spiritual development.
Our Children’s Ministry staff and volunteers have only a fraction of the time with your child that you do. We believe our role is to support and supplement your child’s spiritual growth, guide them toward a strong, healthy Christian lifestyle, and model Christ-like behavior.
We want to partner with you as the primary grownup at home—to love your child, teach them biblical truth, and help shape a faith that seeks the Kingdom of Heaven.
Where Do I Start?
Start with prayer. James 1:5 reminds us that “if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
Pray for each and every one of your children. Thank the Lord for the blessing they are, for the fact that He entrusted them to you, and for the responsibility and privilege of raising them.
Then, ask the Lord to place on your heart the ways He desires your family to worship Him—together. This may look different in every household. Some family schedules allow for a peaceful hour of worship before bed, while others may find meaningful connection around the dinner table, taking turns sharing a thought, a question, or a short devotional.
You might even use what your child is learning in Sabbath School as a bedtime story, allowing that intentional time together to spark conversation, questions, and reflection.
Family worship doesn’t have to be complicated, grand, or picture-perfect. It simply needs to be intentional, real, and flexible. God created our hearts - even the littlest of hearts, to worship Him. If the “family worship” standards in your mind feel too hard to commit to, unrealistic, or overwhelming—let them go. Instead, ask God to help you discover your family’s rhythm of worship—one that keeps Him at the center and becomes something your family looks forward to. Be willing to change it up. Invite your kids into the process and ask for their ideas. And remember, God has all the time in the world for you and your family. Just start—and keep pursuing intentional time with the Lord together.
