About the IAP Orchestra

The IAP orchestra was founded in the Fall of 2012 by Daniel Zhang to give MIT students the chance to perform in an orchestra during Independent Activities Period (IAP) under the baton of a student conductor. Recently, the group has been ramping up in ambition, offering a longer and more challenging program each year. This year's program includes a work by Tchaikovsky and Dvorak each, a throwback to the repertoire chosen by Daniel Zhang in the second and third concerts.
