I an educator with over 25 years in the field of education. I was a classroom teacher for 11 years. I have served thirteen years in the capacity of an instructional coach, administrator, curriculum coordinator, or state department of education leader. Before becoming a regional partnership manager for the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD)/ International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE), I served the students, parents, staff, administration, and communities for schools in Arkansas through the Arkansas Department of Education as Technology Initiatives eLearning Coordinator in the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education- Research and Technology Division. Currently, I work with Oklahoma University Education Services (OUES) as an Instructional Designer, supporting instructors and administrators in the College of Professional and Continuing Studies and the OU-Health Campus RISE MED Program.
In my current and previous positions, I have helped shape the vision for a positive, transparent, student-centered learning environment that is in a constant state of growth and improvement. Preparing students to be future-ready and workforce-prepared is always at the forefront of my mind as I collaborate with instructors, administrators, organizational stakeholders, and community partners.
Preparing our students of today to be productive and successful citizens of tomorrow is critical. To do this, I consider the following points when facilitating ideas, products, and programs in higher education:
Provide a learning environment that is dynamic and inclusive. This platform must reach all students to ensure all are prepared to thrive in the future they were purposed to fulfill.
Support and encourage colleagues by providing relevant training, resources, and opportunities that optimize student engagement and learning.
Provide support and model open, engaged communication with learners, stakeholders, and community, facilitating positive partnerships.
Foster partnerships with all support systems to promote K-12 initiatives and partner with Higher Education Programs.
Coordinate and collaborate with various programs to best utilize resources to provide learners and partners the best resources possible.
