Birding in Cozumel

The island of Cozumel, located just 12 miles east of the Yucatan Peninsula, is a birding paradise and is regularly visited by international birding tours.  It hosts a number of endemic species and subspecies, and also shares many bird species with other regions of the Caribbean and Yucatan Peninsula.  Located along the migration flyway for many species of mid-western and western North America, the island is also home to numerous part-year residents during the northern hemisphere winter.

This site is intended as an introduction to bird-watching in Cozumel.  Below are a few links that describe some of the endemic species and subspecies, birding hotspots, local tour guides for birdwatching, and info, weather and news from the island.
