I worked at Cone Island in Solomons for 2 summer seasons in High School. The establishment sells Icecream and various treats to consumers who are walking along the Solomons Boardwalk where the 'shack' is located, right across from the playground. It's a quite a smart business model to place a 'sweet treat dealer' right next to where children are often playing. I enjoyed my time working there, however once I graduated I was of the mind that selling Icecream was no longer what I needed to be doing.
I didn't expect to have learned as much as I did working here, as the manager entrusted the employees to fully manage stocking the facility, filling and clearing the register while tracking the in and out flow, as well as the entire opening and closing process often times being the responsibility of one employee.
