Tell me about your experience of receiving the acceptance letter to your Ph.D. program.

Renée: I took a screen shot of my acceptance letter and texted it to everybody!

Kerry: I called my immediate family and friends, then shared with everyone via Facebook. My GSU staff created this sign for me and posted in on my office door.


Tell me about your experiences over the course of your PH.D. program.

Renée: Sometimes I feel like Farris, and other times I feel like Cameron. LOL [Refers to the "Ferris Bueller clip]

I am much stronger than I thought before starting this journey. There are days that I want to scream. There are days that I think about quitting my full time job. There are days I cry. There are days that I am challenged. There are more days when I am motivated by the learning process. Nothing can compare to this journey.

Tell me about your experiences as you approach comprehensive exams.

Renée: I'm getting it together. I've been gathering my resources since I started and asking questions as I go. I have faith that it is all going to come together...just in time [smiles].

Kerry: I need to get it together. I am much closer to this moment than I thought... YIKES!
