I am a MATS research fellow, focusing on China’s AI innovation and governance strategies. In the past, I was an affiliate/ fellow at leading AI governance organisations, including the Centre for the Governance of AI (Oxford), The Future Society (Paris), and Concordia AI (Beijing).
My recent publications include a report on promising AI governance topics for US–China dialogues with George Washington University's Associate Professor Jeffrey Ding. My analyses have been featured on the MIT Tech Review, IEEE Spectrum, The Wire China, and DigiChina. My research has directly informed top AI safety institutes, key AI labs, and United Nations partners.
Prior to this research chapter, I was a corporate finance/ risk analyst based in Hong Kong with a focus on the Chinese tech sector. I hold a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick, and an MA in International and Public Affairs from the University of Hong Kong, with a semester spent at George Washington University in D.C.
