Kristina Manysheva
I am an Assistant Professor within the Economic Division at Columbia Business School.Â
In my research I focus on the macroeconomic aspects of economic development. I use macro models that incorporate empirically motivated micro-economic features, such as heterogeneity and market frictions, to evaluate the quantitative impact of various policies and institutions in a general equilibrium setting. The examples of topics I study include the role of financial and land markets in the process of economic development; the impact of spatial, financial, and educational segregation on socioeconomic outcomes; innovation and economic growth.
