My first year in college was somewhat difficult because it took time for me to adjust to a new environment and understand what kind of student I wanted to be. I also struggled with socializing and meeting new people at first. In addition, I was learning how to become more responsible with my time, assignments, and daily commitments.
One of the most helpful aspects of my first semester was participating in the S8 Program. The study halls provided a supportive environment where I could receive academic assistance and collaborate with peers who were experiencing many of the same challenges. Being able to ask questions, share ideas, and learn from others greatly improved my understanding of course material and helped me build confidence as a student.
Although the transition to college was challenging, the experience taught me valuable lessons about responsibility, persistence, and seeking help when needed. By the end of the semester, I felt more comfortable with college life and better prepared for future academic success.
During my second semester, I felt much more confident and comfortable as a college student. I had developed a consistent study schedule and learned how to manage my time more effectively. As a result, I became more productive, responsible, and organized in my academic work.
While some of my classes were challenging, I was able to overcome difficulties by attending study halls and seeking additional tutoring when necessary. These resources helped me strengthen my understanding of course concepts and improve my academic performance. Instead of struggling alone, I learned the importance of using available support systems and asking for help when needed.
Looking back on my second semester, I am proud of the growth I achieved both academically and personally. I became a more disciplined student, improved my study habits, and gained confidence in my ability to succeed. The experiences and lessons from this semester have prepared me to continue growing throughout my college career.
