The CCE workshop series on Artificial Intelligence-Facilitated Literature Review focuses on promoting learning objectives related to academic literature review and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) literacy. Drawing on Boell and Cecez-Kecmanovic's (2014) framework for hermeneutic literature review, the workshops provide attendees--including graduate students, scientific and professional staff, and faculty, with clearly stated goals for what typical thesis and dissertation literature reviews aim to achieve. From there, the workshop introduces the 3E Framework (Terrill et al., 2024) for effective, efficient, and ethical delegation of tasks to GenAI tools. Elicit is demonstrated and critiqued with hands-on activities in which attendees apply the GenAI tool to their own, authentic research.
