I am a Research Engineer with a multidisciplinary background in aerospace structures, advanced materials, computational modelling, and defense technology development. During my time at the Multi Physics Laboratory, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay, I contributed to government-funded research projects in collaboration with organizations including DRDO, ISRO, the Indian Army, and other strategic research partners. My work focused on bridging experimental research with engineering applications to develop next-generation technologies for aerospace and defense.
My research interests include high strain-rate mechanics, ballistic impact behaviour, shape memory alloys, multifunctional composites, and multiphysics modelling. I have designed and conducted Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) and ballistic impact experiments, developed constitutive material models, and performed numerical simulations using MATLAB, COMSOL Multiphysics, ABAQUS, ANSYS, and other computational tools. I have also carried out advanced material characterization using SEM, XRD, EBSD, DSC, DMA, Digital Image Correlation (DIC), and thermomechanical testing techniques to investigate material behaviour under extreme loading conditions.
Beyond research, I have coordinated interdisciplinary projects involving faculty members, researchers, and industry partners while mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in experimental methodologies and laboratory practices. I have contributed to the development of innovative experimental systems, research infrastructure, laboratory websites, and technology demonstrators for aerospace applications, while actively supporting scientific outreach through workshops and technical events.
I am passionate about transforming fundamental research into practical engineering solutions by integrating experimental mechanics, computational modelling, and system-level engineering. My long-term goal is to contribute to indigenous aerospace and defense technologies through collaborative research, innovation, and advanced engineering development.
