🌟 STUDENT EMPOWERMENT PLAN

“Because when students feel seen, they believe they can succeed.”

Proposed by KRIS FIELDS, Candidate for School Board Of Trustees

🏫 Context & Commitment

Each year, I will tour a minimum of 25 campuses, delivering motivational speeches that speak to the heart of student potential—especially in underserved communities where belief in self is often the missing ingredient.

During each visit, I will recognize outstanding students with Certificates of Excellence and Achievement, issued on behalf of the Board of Trustees, to celebrate character, leadership, academic effort, improvement, and community service.

Because students shouldn’t have to be perfect to be seen—they just need to be progressing.

🎤 1. Inspirational Campus Tours

25+ Annual Campus Visits: Bring encouragement and vision to students through engaging, high-energy speaking engagements rooted in hope, identity, and purpose.

Recognition Assemblies: Highlight students in front of their peers, teachers, and families with formal awards that validate effort, improvement, and impact—not just grades.

Student Spotlights: Feature honorees on district media platforms to amplify their story and normalize excellence from all backgrounds.

🏆 2. Certificate of Excellence Program

Award Categories:

Community Impact

Board-Endorsed Recognition: Certificates signed on behalf of the School Board to elevate the legitimacy of each student’s achievement.

Partner-Sponsored Rewards: Collaborate with local businesses to provide incentive items (gift cards, meals, experiences) to go along with the awards.

🚀 3. Student Voice & Leadership

Empowerment Circles: After each speech, hold small group sessions with students to hear their ideas, challenges, and solutions firsthand.

Youth Advisory Ambassadors: Create a student-led panel that advises the School Board on what students truly need in their schools.

"Lead Where You Are" Toolkit: Distribute a practical, age-appropriate leadership guide for students that connects motivation to action, right where they are.

🎯 4. Access to Opportunities

Scholarship Navigation Workshops: Partner with counselors to offer sessions that help students discover and apply for financial aid and leadership programs.

Recognition-to-Opportunity Pipeline: Work with community partners to connect recognized students with internships, enrichment programs, and leadership academies.

Award Tracking Portal: Implement a system for students and families to track awards, community service hours, and recognitions to support future applications.

đź’ˇ 5. Motivation Into Momentum

Progress Report Shoutouts: Use school-wide announcements and digital shoutouts to affirm students showing growth or resilience.

"Keep Rising" Series: Launch short monthly videos from KRIS FIELDS sent to all campuses with encouragement, leadership lessons, and student shoutouts.

Family Empowerment Nights: Host evening events for parents and guardians to receive tools, affirmations, and insights into how to keep students motivated at home.

📍 Accountability & Impact Tracking

Public Annual Report: Publish a yearly summary showing how many students were recognized, what campuses were visited, and what follow-up opportunities were provided.

Student & Staff Surveys: Gather feedback from campuses to improve future engagement and tailor programs to meet students’ evolving needs.

Ongoing Partnerships: Collaborate with non-profits, youth organizations, and businesses to expand the reach and resources of the empowerment plan.

🔑 Why This Matters

Because motivation without follow-through fades.

Because recognition is a spark—and opportunity is the flame.

Because every student deserves to feel like they matter, and that their future is worth fighting for.

With this Student Empowerment Plan, we’re not just cheering students on from the sidelines—we’re showing up, standing beside them, and making sure they know they were born to rise.
