Vernacular Academy
Our beloved country India is blessed enormously with various cultures, traditions, customs and it's indubitably an epitome of Unity in Diversity. The Community of Kripalaya, a tiny speck in the map of India is also filled with a lot of diversity. Resembling India, we have brothers from 9 states, speaking over 18 languages and various dialects and having diverse cultures and traditions yet we all live together under one roof, following one and only Capuchin tradition. This enhances the beauty of our community, being one with the Lord.
However, the love and affection for one's own language and culture is never diminished. Envisaging the future requirements, the community of Kriplaya provides a forum for the brothers to foster their language and culture. That is Vernacular Academy. In the Vernacular Academy brothers are encouraged to develop their skills in their own language through public speaking, storytelling, literature, music etc. We have 3 academies namely - Kannada-Konkani Academy, Hindi Academy and North-East Academy. On every Saturday Academy meetings are held and brothers participate enthusiastically expressing their love for their language and culture. Ever so often, Brothers involve themselves in various activities exhibiting the richness of their cultures and traditions.
