About Kripalaya
Kripalaya, the Institute of Philosophy and Religion, situated in the Bogadi village of Mysuru City, is owned and Managed by the Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka India. The institute is the formation centre in Ecclesiastical Philosophy and trains the brothers of the Holy Trinity Capuchin Province of Karnataka, Krist Jyothi Province, Delhi and those of Nirmala Matha Custody (Assam - Meghalaya).
Our Mission and Vision
The Institute is meant for the study and research in Ecclesiastical Philosophy so “that the students... will come to a solid and coherent synthesis of doctrine, will learn to examine and judge the different systems of philosophy, and will also gradually become accustomed to personal philosophical reflection” (Veritatis Gaudium Norms, 64§2). Philosophy is the noblest branch of knowledge humanity has developed from the time immemorial. The study of philosophy trains the mind for better logical thinking, mental discipline, ability for analysis and synthesis, critical reflection on God, World, Man, Society, Religion, Culture, etc. In Kripalaya, the students gain knowledge through philosophical and religious education. The knowledge thus acquired should qualify them not only to continue their theological education, but also to equip them eventually to live harmoniously their holy vocation among the peoples of different faiths and cultures with constantdialogue.
The main thrust of the institute is the formation in Franciscan Capuchin living, even though intellectual formation receives a special emphasis. During their stay at Kripalaya, the students of philosophy deepen their Franciscan identity and go out as enlightened personalities to remove ignorance, prejudices, religious and cultural fanaticism and to promote personal, religious and national integration.
