My work isn't confined to the lab—it's in the community, fighting for our resources. I was instrumental in launching a brand new grassroots group, Washington County for Safe Drinking Water (WCSDW). This effort involved true community organizing: getting dedicated citizens together, setting up our initial framework, and building our online presence to start generating momentum for change.
Making Real Change: This high-profile meeting brought national experts (like Justin Nobel, Ted Auch, and John Stolz) to the Washington State College campus to educate the community on the local threats. The stakes are huge: the county has 19 permitted injection wells, and eight are within two miles of Marietta's Source Water Protection Area.
Outcome: Successfully executing this event, established the WCSDW website, gave the community the tools and platform needed to demand oversight and protect our drinking water.

My job as an ASPECT Mentor at Ohio University is all about fostering a positive and enriching learning environment. Sometimes that means organizing special events to provide unique opportunities for the students I support.
The Project: I took the lead in creating and managing a special, free educational event for students on campus, which included a partnership with the Ohio Canid Center.
From Idea to Execution: Leveraging my executive experience (as VP and Treasurer of the club), I was responsible for the entire project lifecycle: securing funding, managing the budget, coordinating guest speakers, and inviting participants.
The Result: I successfully put on a high-quality, fully-funded event that provided an accessible and engaging educational opportunity for students, demonstrating my ability to plan, fundraise, and execute large-scale projects that directly enhance student life.
