Summary
This app does not collect any personal data. There is no user account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. I have no access to anything you enter in the app.
Planner and entries
Everything you enter in the planner (timetable, lessons, notes, to-dos, meeting notes, calendar entries) is stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and use syncing, these entries are also stored in your private iCloud database at Apple so they appear on your other devices. This database belongs to your Apple Account. Other users and I as the developer have no access to it. Apple stores the data encrypted. It is end-to-end encrypted, and therefore unreadable even for Apple, only if you have turned on Advanced Data Protection in your iCloud settings. Apple’s privacy policy applies to processing by Apple. Settings such as country, region and color theme stay on the respective device only.
Class lists and grades
Student names, grades, notes, contact details and remarks in the class lists are stored only on your device. They are not synced via iCloud and are never sent to me or any third party. Class lists are locked with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Biometric authentication is performed by your device; the app does not receive any biometric data. You can create a password-protected backup file and decide yourself where to keep it. As a teacher, you are responsible for processing your students’ data. Please follow the rules of your school and your local education authority.
Importing student lists
When you import a student list (for example an Excel or CSV file), the file is read only on your device. Only the details you confirm in the preview are added. The file itself is not sent to me or any third party.
Transfer to another device
When you transfer your data to another device, the app creates an encrypted file that you pass on yourself, for example via AirDrop or the Files app. A one-time code is required to open it. I am not involved in this transfer.
Attachments
Files, photos and scanned documents you attach to a lesson are copied into the app and treated like your other planner entries: stored on the device and, if you use syncing, in your private iCloud. For the document scanner, the app asks for camera access. Pictures are only saved if you add them as an attachment.
School holidays and public holidays
To show school holidays and public holidays in Germany, the app retrieves data from the public service OpenHolidays (openholidaysapi.org). For technical reasons, your IP address, the time of the request and the selected German state are transmitted to this service. No other information is sent. In other countries, the app does not contact this service; you can enter or import holidays yourself.
Purchases
Kreidezeit can be used for free. The full version is available as a monthly subscription or as a one-time purchase. Purchase, payment, billing and refunds are handled entirely by Apple. I do not receive any payment details or your name. The app only checks with Apple whether a valid full version exists on your device. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device settings under your Apple Account.
App Store and TestFlight
The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store and TestFlight. Apple may collect data such as crash reports and usage statistics and show them to me in aggregated, non-personal form if you have agreed to this on your device.
Contact by email
If you write to me, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply. When you use “Send feedback” in the app, the app version, device type and iOS version are added to the email; you can delete them before sending. The message is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed.
This website
This website is hosted on Google Sites. When you visit it, Google processes technically necessary data such as your IP address. Google’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. You can delete your entries at any time yourself: individually in the app, all student data via the class list settings, and the app’s iCloud data in your device’s iCloud settings. Deleting the app also deletes all class lists on that device.
Changes
If the app changes, I will update this policy. The version published here applies.
