An all new MP3 only version of my 'EQ Fixed Music: Classic - Luclin' mod
An all new MP3 only version of EQ Fixed Music, for those who don't like the issues the broken EQ midi engine has now and then with lost or hung notes. For this mod I've gone and converted all 422 midi's in EQ through my custom EQ midi soundfont into mp3 format, and then replaced the calls in all 179 .emt files to point to these mp3s. This means playback will always be correct, with no lost or hung notes ever, as everything is pre-recorded mp3 instead of being played live as MIDI.
KNOWN ISSUES: The MP3 version of this mod does not affect global sounds (combat music, merchant and banking music, sneaking/swimming music, etc), these sounds are called directly by the client only and this behavior is not modifiable. This means that no matter what I do, I cannot get the client to use mp3's for these Global Sounds instead of using its own internal system for calling global sounds via MIDI from gl.xmi. This means if a midi engine such as VirtualMidiSynth is not running with a soundfont selected, then there won't be any playback at all of these global sounds until you start up VirtualMidiSynth, or if you revert back to the default Windows 11 MIDI engine. This is not an issue if you have not installed a different midi engine in the first place, such as the old and deprecated BASSMIDI Driver or VirtualMidiSynth, meaning your system is using the default OS one.
1.) Open your Project Quarm EQ Directory
2.) Backup the default .emt files (optional)
3.) Drag & Drop the contents of the .zip directly into the root of your Quarm directory
4.) Say 'Yes' to overwrite existing files
5.) Enjoy!
