Image registration is the spatial alignment of corresponding images of the same scene acquired from different times, views, and/or sensors. In general, registration methods can be divided into two categories: 1) area-based methods, and 2) feature-based methods. Area-based methods use the pixel intensity of corresponding region in which the similarity measure is key factor for registration accuracy. In contrast, feature-based methods use points, curves, lines, branches, and regions.
