Got7

GOT7 is a South Korean boy band formed by JYP Entertainment. The group debuted on January 16, 2014, with the release of their EP "Got It?" and the title track "Girls Girls Girls." Consisting of seven members, JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom, the group quickly gained popularity both in South Korea and internationally.

Prior to their debut, many of the members had been trainees at JYP Entertainment for several years. They trained in various aspects of music, including singing, dancing, and rap. Their hard work paid off when they were chosen to debut as part of the new boy group, GOT7.

In 2014, GOT7 released their second EP, "Got Love," which featured the hit single "A." The song gained significant attention and helped the group solidify their fan base. They continued to release successful albums and singles over the next few years, including "Just Right" in 2015 and "Flight Log: Turbulence" in 2016.

In 2017, GOT7 released their seventh EP, "7 for 7," which marked a significant turning point in their career. The title track, "You Are," was written and composed by the members themselves, showcasing their musical talents and involvement in the creative process. The album received critical acclaim and further established GOT7 as a self-producing group.

Over the years, GOT7 expanded their activities beyond music. Members appeared in various television shows, hosted their own reality programs, and pursued individual projects. They also embarked on numerous world tours, captivating audiences with their energetic performances and charismatic stage presence.

In January 2021, after the expiration of their contracts with JYP Entertainment, GOT7 announced their departure from the agency. However, the members assured fans that they would continue as a group, albeit pursuing individual activities as well. This decision marked a transition for GOT7 into a new chapter of their careers.

In addition to their music releases, GOT7 gained recognition for their powerful and synchronized dance performances. Their choreography became a trademark of their performances, often incorporating elements of martial arts and acrobatics. They also showcased their versatility by experimenting with different musical genres, including pop, hip-hop, R&B, and EDM.

GOT7's popularity extended beyond South Korea, as they actively promoted their music and engaged with fans internationally. They held successful concerts and fan meetings in various countries, including the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia. They were particularly well-received in Japan, where they released Japanese versions of their Korean songs and held large-scale concerts.

Some of their notable tracks include "Hard Carry," "If You Do," "Never Ever," "Lullaby," and "Breath." They also released full-length albums such as "Identify," "Flight Log: Departure," "Eyes On You," and "Dye," further showcasing their growth and musical development.

They appeared in various reality shows together, such as "Real GOT7," which gave fans a glimpse into their daily lives and dynamics as a group. Some members ventured into acting, with Jinyoung starring in dramas like "He Is Psychometric" and "When My Love Blooms." Jackson also gained recognition as a solo artist, releasing successful solo tracks and collaborating with international artists.

Despite their individual pursuits, GOT7 emphasized their commitment to the group and its future. They regularly communicated with fans through social media and expressed their gratitude for the continued support. Before their official debut, the members of GOT7 went through rigorous training at JYP Entertainment. Some members, like JB and Jinyoung, had previous experience in the entertainment industry as they appeared in variety shows and dramas. Mark, the only non-Korean member of the group, was scouted in Los Angeles and moved to South Korea to pursue his dream of becoming a singer. GOT7 made their debut on January 16, 2014, with their first EP, "Got It?" and the title track "Girls Girls Girls." They embarked on their first world tour and gained a larger global following. GOT7 continued to release successful albums and singles over the years. "Hard Carry," released in 2016, became one of their signature songs, known for its powerful choreography and intense performances. Other popular tracks include "Never Ever," "Just Right," "You Are," and "Eclipse." They also experimented with different languages, releasing Japanese and English versions of some of their songs.: Each member of GOT7 pursued individual projects alongside their group activities. They collaborated with various artists, both within and outside of JYP Entertainment. Notably, Jackson collaborated with American rapper Gucci Mane for the track "Different Game," showcasing their international reach. GOT7 embarked on multiple world tours, including "Fly Tour," "Eyes On You World Tour," and "Keep Spinning World Tour." They performed in sold-out arenas and stadiums worldwide, captivating audiences with their electrifying performances and stage presence.   Throughout their career, GOT7 received numerous accolades and recognition for their music and performances. They won several major awards, including the Golden Disk Award, Seoul Music Award, and Gaon Chart Music Award. They also topped charts and achieved significant album sales, solidifying their position as one of the leading K-pop groups. 

 Following their departure from JYP Entertainment, each member signed with different agencies and began exploring their individual interests. JB and Yugyeom signed with Jay Park's agency, H1GHR MUSIC. Mark returned to his hometown in the United States but remained connected to the group. Jinyoung and Youngjae signed with Sublime Artist Agency, while BamBam signed with ABYSS COMPANY. Jackson continued to focus on his solo career and various ventures.

The fanbase of GOT7 is known as "Ahgase," which translates to "baby bird" in Korean. Ahgase represents the loyal and supportive fan community that has grown around the group since their debut. The name reflects the group's concept and their fans' role as the nurturing presence for the members, guiding and protecting them as they navigate their careers. Ahgase is known for their dedication, creativity, and love for the members, actively supporting them through album sales, streaming, and attending concerts and fan events. 

GOT7's journey has been marked by their dedication to their craft, their ability to evolve musically, and their unwavering support for each other. While their paths may have diverged temporarily, the members have expressed their desire to reunite and create more music as a group, giving fans hope for a future comeback and new adventures together.
