This Sucks

The Qwineb Galaxy is an average-sized Spiral Galaxy, home to a multitude of space-faring empires, alliances, as well as other miscellaneous groups scattered about. No Grox exist here anymore, aside from the occasional refugees or invaders from other galaxies, having been driven out thousands of years ago. The Eulpov Corporation currently manages most, if not all package deliveries between empires in the galaxy. The empires are currently in an age of... relative peace, as wars & conflict are generally looked down upon; but it's definitely not perfect or airtight. A sort of galaxy-wide internet exists, enabling more communication between empires than ever before; for better or worse.

It is a fairly old-aged galaxy; old enough to have once had a bar structure, with enough time passing for the bar to have completely degraded as star birth slowed down.

It is the main location where Secrets of the Star Gryphs takes place!

Do not ask me to mark where any of the empire territories are specifically, I have absolutely no idea! A lot of people severely underestimate just how big galaxies, even in Spore, are; as well as how microscopic even the biggest empires with thousands of star systems would be in comparison to the galaxy. Mapping it all & having to take note of all that + more hard worldbuilding stuff would be an Actual Chore. I am simply Not Thinking about it & going with vibes </3

Known Empires

Empires are dictated by who governs the area, dominant culture, majority species, homeworld locations, etc; but pretty much everywhere is multispecies to some degree! (Basically they're treated more like countries, rather than a huge monospecies mass.)

For design purposes, just assume everything can be any colour & feel free to go ham, unless explicitly stated otherwise (e.g. Star Gryph feathers are always some shade of purple or blue). When I was taking these screenshots, I was mostly just messing around with random paint colours in the editors, or going with The Vibes™, but it really doesn't matter that much.

Star Gryph

(Wanderers)

Relatively peaceful weirdos that just kinda showed up one day??? Currently the youngest empire in the galaxy at only a few hundred years old. Coated in purple-or-blue feathers.

Linturon

(Knights)

A noble, wingless, bird-like species with extremely colourful & varied plumage. They have the strongest military in the galaxy, though are honour-bound by law to only use it in specific circumstances to protect themselves or others.

Celerseo Fleet

(Pirates)

Honourable rogues led by a Linturon Captain, though the group itself is comprised of many different species. Formed to enact justice & heroism in ways that most empires would consider less than legal. They plunder from the rich & cruel, then give back to the poor & good. They solely exist nomadically on their ships & have no colonies or territory, but are still a major power.

Plovae

(Ecologists)

Tall, hulking giants with a cultural reverence towards nature & the environment. They have the most environmentally-friendly, sustainable, resource-minimal green technology in the entire galaxy; solar glass being their main export.

Arthworac

(Diplomats)

Completely inorganic robots, linked together by a hivemind. Originally built by a now-extinct ancient scientist empire to act as servants. The Arthworac now thrive in their own ways, making their own choices & living their own lives, eager to befriend others.

Squireny

(Scientists/Diplomats/Warriors/Wanderers?)

...Yeah, their politics are currently a bit of a mess. Have the largest population in the galaxy.

Urhoen

(Scientists)

The oldest currently living empire in the galaxy. They started as discarded experiments of the Grox, back before the Grox were driven out of the galaxy. They were never meant to survive outside of their labs, thus now requiring extremely heavy medical attention & care to survive; developing the scientist philosophy out of necessity, in order to give their people the healthcare they needed. Younger individuals are healthier, though still require some technological aid. Despite their fragile physique, Urhoen can live up to hundreds of thousands of years- most Urhoen elderly actually still remember their experiences with the Grox!

Lanthes

(Shamans)

A small, peaceful empire that mostly keeps to themselves, having a very small number of colonies by choice. Their empire is probably the most relaxing & chill empire to be in. Their culture places a heavy emphasis on the arts, self-expression, & connecting with your emotions.

Trennemi

(Traders)

Dapper, polite blokes whose economy relies heavily on trade. They use their homeworld as an interplanetary trading port, making use of the happy coincidence of their planet being close to the galactic core & thus having a lot of traffic. Their society is somewhat elitist against those who just wanna chill & don't wanna commit their entire lives to business.

(Based on my home country Singapore having a similar history, haha...)

Vuliah

(Bards)

A humble empire that's had a recent renaissance in the entertainment industry, caused by citizens trying to distract themselves from their not-so-great economy, with some encouragement from their current council. Still trying to pay reparations to the rest of the galaxy, due to the warcrimes of their previous Zealot emperor. Spodism is still a significant part of their culture, but the empire has since renounced its extremist, violent ways.

Trimin

(Wanderers)

Evolved on a frozen-ocean ice planet & can't really survive in warmer environments; so they rarely physically interact with other species without special equipment, keeping to themselves in low-temperature planet colonies & heavily air-conditioned ships. Most Trimin have to contact the outside world through communication devices or online. Don't have a formal government & colonies are largely independent of each other.

Mylette

(Ecologists)

Capable of surviving both underwater & on land. They consider water & the oceans to be sacred, vowing to protect marine life. Evolved on a planet with a red ocean, so their bodies typically come in warmer colours, such as red, pink, & orange; though yellow has been observed occasionally! Most Mylette keep their clothing lightweight & minimal, so as not to be a burden while swimming.

Quanur

(Shamans)

Yeah I don't really have too much lore on these guys???? They're the result of me doing an easy mode playthrough when I was bored, & I just wanted to include 'em here. Their empire's just chillin' & being spiritual, I think.

Dolamer

(Bards)

Amorphous slimes that are essentially physically indestructible, only getting hurt through sickness & age. Can usually be seen sitting on rovers for faster mobility, though they can live without them. Due to being basically unkillable, their empire is known for their incredibly exciting parties & festivities... with activities that would probably severely injure anyone who isn't a Dolamer.

Siligh

(Diplomats)

Tall, insect-like beings with extremely sensitive whiskers, that allow them to sense even the smallest movements. Natural empaths who can easily tell what others are feeling.

Skooss

(Scientists)

Surprisingly sturdy beings, whose empire places a lot of emphasis on the importance of education & knowledge. They have extremely flexible prehensile tails with a suction cup at the end, which function as hands. Can communicate with other members of their own species telepathically if they so choose. There's all sorts of specific rules for being polite in the mental network by keeping your thoughts contained & guarded, which some view as outdated. Younger folks tend to quite literally be more open-minded.
