This cover illustration depicts a significant advancement in nanophotonics by utilizing ionic liquid (IL) as a dielectric layer to modulate carrier concentrations in indium phosphide (InP) nanolasers at nearinfrared wavelength. In article number 2412340 by Chia-Hung Wu, Kuo-Ping Chen, and co-workers, the nanolaser demonstrates an efficient, room-temperature switching with a 22-fold extinction ratio, offering promising applications for integrated photonic circuits or bio-sensing with flexible substrates. The cover art demonstrates the development of nanophotonic circuits by using graphene to detect the unidirectional surface plasmon polariton (SPP) propagation in a "nonscattering" approach.
