For this Art Fundamentals assignment I had to create a mood board which I then had to use to draw multiple sketches of characters, objects and environments. And when I had the sketches done I made the final piece.
This is a sketch of my first object (a weapon for the protagonist) based on the mood board I've put together.
This was the second sketch I drew. It zooms in on the plane in the first sketch and shows a character inside it.
This was supposed to be a digital sketch of the terrain from the height of a fighter jet, but it turned out to be a mess of colours.
This is a digital sketch of a sky. It would do rather well and seemed like a much better alternative to the one I drew before.
I also tried to draw a dog instead of a cat as a protagonist, but it turned out way less exciting than a cat.
Having the protagonist in a tank seemed exciting at first. Although there are major downsides to it. For example it would be impossible to see the character from the outside. Also the concentration of speed and action is much lower in a tank than a fighter jet.
This was a way to predict how the final piece would look and if there were any adjustments I would like to make it before I started drawing.
I didn't spend as much time on it as I would've wanted to. But as inexperienced as I am in art this is one of the best things I ever drew.
