I agree that cancelling the funding to OSAPAC is a good idea because it encourages more efficient allocation of resources. Our technology is always evolving and relying on a centralized committee like OSAPAC to recommend software might not always be the best approach as it is not always the most current or suitable tools for our classrooms. This cancellation can empower teachers to choose tools that meet their students needs. It will also encourage competition among software providers.
Sharing my recent screenplay writing. I used youmescript.com and had assistance from two students Tallon and Allan who helped with the overall story.
This assignment was helpful, and also helped targeted an area I needed to improve for my students. I will integrate this into my green screening assignment.
The use of communication technology has become a very important part of our students' lives. From social media apps to remote learning sites like Google Classroom and Brightspace. It is important for our students to learn how to navigate digital platforms for academic and professional success. Video production has become important to help students to express ideas, enhance their presentations.
Video production is a crucial skill to learn as it allows all students to express their ideas using their creativity. Video production assists in storytelling, visual communication, and media literacy. When our students view forms of multimedia content, they need to have the ability to create videos that will help convey information effectively and attract audiences from many different media types.
For myself, WeVideo has become my first choice for many reasons. Its cloud-based design helps students with collaboration. The software allows students to edit and share projects across various devices with very little setup. Students only need to add themselves to the classroom that the teacher has set up. One student then starts the project and shares it with the others in the group. From that point on anyone in the group can upload video, audio and start editing the final production. This ease of use helps students work on their projects anytime, anywhere, creating a flexible and productive learning environment.
WeVideo has a very easy to use interface and additional add-ons that make it an ideal tool as a cloud base software to start off with for all learners at all levels. Nomatter if a student is a beginner or are experienced Adobe Premiere Pro editors, WeVideo is a very user-friendly platform that also offers advanced editing capabilities, including customizable templates, audio editing tools, and real-time collaboration features. This versatility helps reach all learning styles and creates a learning environment where students can explore, make mistakes and refine their video production skills.
My students have utilized available online resources such as tutorials, guides, and hands-on exercises to help enhance their skills. Encouraging them through experimentation and peer collaboration helps enhance learning as students always exchange ideas and how-to’s be displaying early products with each other. Troubleshooting challenges, and providing constructive feedback are a very important aspect of the cloud based setup created by WeVideo.
Accommodations are easily made for students with LD’s. WeVideo's accessibility features allow for a very easy role in creating an inclusive environment within the classroom. WeVideo offers features such as closed captioning which helps avoid the need for uploading or creating another account with YouTube. It also allows customizable playback settings, and audio descriptions which helps ensure that all students can become active participants. The material the students create becomes effective to all no matter their individual learning needs.
WeVideo has become a valuable tool for me in introducing video production by offering accessibility, versatility, and collaborative features that our students can adapt to create productions that they are proud of and love to display to others.
This module enhanced my WeVideo skills by teaching me storytelling techniques for multimedia presentations. Unfortunately, I lost my voice and decided to try a text to speech TTSMaker which worked ok but soon realized any non AI generated voices were a paid premium. Through creating a film on "A Day in the Life of a Student," I improved in editing skills in WeVideo. From this module, I learned how storytelling can assist student success and new knowledge in multimedia production. I focused on character development, plot progression, visual elements, and maintaining an optimistic tone to create a clear and impactful story.
