I use a SPOT satellite communication device for showing my location. SPOT also offers the safety of an emergency button, so in a life or death situation I can simply hit the SOS button, and first responders can see my exact GPS location and SPOT will send them to me without the need for me to talk or articulate my issue to a dispatcher. IF my phone works, I can use that as well, but phones don't always have signal. SPOT will work in almost every remote corner of the planet.
I do not get a kickback or any sort of sponsorship from SPOT tracker. I just know I feel safer with one, and I have a friend that used his to get help in a remote part of South Dakota after a motorcycle crash. I know it works and I know it could save me some day.
