My Dad got me into motorcycles. I had a moped the minute I got my permit, and a motorcycle as soon as I got my license. Dad found a 2100 mile, 26 year old (at the time) Yamaha Seca 650 that I bought. We went to the Sturgis Rally together in 2007, riding our old Japanese bikes the whole way out and back. Realizing how fun and difficult and relaxing and taxing motorcycle travel can be decided the path for my future. 

The billmaa YouTube channel (the video in this section) was the single largest influence on getting me into traveling to all 50 states. Make a handful of routes and get after it. He has passed away, but his videos are still available. 

Glacial Lakes Motorcycle Club members (Shooter and Sleddog mostly) were the ones that helped aim me towards big mile rides and getting way outside my comfort bubble.
