III. 인간 (Man)

인간은 하나님의 특별한 창조물로 그분의 형상대로 지어졌습니다. 하나님께서는 남자와 여자를 창조하셨는데 그들은 하나님의 창조 세계에서 가장 뛰어난 작품이었습니다. 그러므로 남성과 여성의 구분은 하나님의 창조 안에 나타나 있는 선하심의 한 부분입니다. 태초에 인간은 무죄하였으며 창조주로부터 선택의 자유를 부여 받았습니다. 인간은 자유의지로 하나님께 죄를 짓고 인류에게 죄를 가져다 주었습니다. 사탄의 유혹으로 인간은 하나님의 명령을 거역하였고 원래의 무죄한 상태에서 타락하게 되었습니다. 이로 말미암아 그의 모든 자손은 자연스럽게 죄로 향하는 본성과 환경을 상속받고 태어나게 되었습니다. 그러므로 그들이 도덕적인 행동을 할 수 있게 되는 순간에 그들은 죄를 선택하여 범죄자가 되고 정죄 아래 놓이게 됩니다. 오직 하나님의 은혜만이 타락한 인간을 하나님의 거룩하신 교제가운데 들어오게 되고 하나님 창조의 목적을 성취할 수 있게 됩니다. 인간성의 신성함은 하나님이 인간 자신의 형상대로 창조하셨다는 것과 그리스도께서 인간을 위해 돌아가셨다는 사실에서 분명히 나타납니다. 따라서 모든 족속의 모든 사람은 완전한 존엄성을 가지고 있으며 존경과 그리스도인의 사랑을 받을 가치가 있습니다. 

Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God’s creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original innocence whereby his posterity inherit a nature and an environment inclined toward sin. Therefore, as soon as they are capable of moral action, they become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
