Seiji was born in 1970 at Nagoya, and raised in Osaka and Nara. Graduated from Nagoya University (BSc, MSc, PhD, supervised by professor Michio Homma) and worked with professor David Blair as a postdoc (Biology, University of Utah, 1999-2004) and professor Keiichi Namba as a second postdoc (ICORP project, Osaka U, 2004-2005), Seiji moved back to Nagoya University for working with Professor Michio Homma in Division of Biological Science, Graduate school of Science, as an assistant professor (2005). Seiji was promoted to be full professor in October 2020, working for G30 international program. Seiji has been a principal investigator (Group of Microbial Motility) in Department of Biological Science, with associate professor Dr. Kentaro Noma, who also works for G30 program. Seiji lives in Nagoya with his wife and a son born in 2014. Hobby: walking, reading, watching NHK documentary, TAIGA drama, volleyball game and movie, listening piano and pop music of 1980-1990s ("Off Course" is Seiji's favorite group).
